For Patients · Insurance Questions

We check your insurance before you come in.

Dental insurance is confusing. At Sora Dentistry in Fairfield, we check your benefits and handle the paperwork for you.

How insurance works here

Here is where we stand with the common plans, and what we do when yours isn't one of them.

The plans we're in-network with

We are in-network with PPO plans from Aetna, Cigna, and Delta Dental. What each covers still depends on the policy your employer chose, so we check yours before you book.

If we're not in your network

You're welcome here either way. We see out-of-network PPO patients, and we verify benefits and file claims for them the same way. Out-of-network benefits are usually lower, and some plans pay nothing out of network, so more of the cost can fall on you. If that's too much, the Sora Dental Savings Plan is another option, with no insurance company involved.

Common questions

Do you take my insurance?
We are in-network with PPO plans from Aetna, Cigna, and Delta Dental. HMO/DHMO and Medicare Advantage plans may be out of network. Call us with the name on your card and we'll check your benefits before you book.
Will insurance cover my whole treatment?
It depends. Coverage varies widely by plan and by procedure, which is why we put your estimate in writing before treatment begins.
What if my plan denies something?
We help you understand why and what your options are. We can't promise a denial will change, but you won't deal with it alone.
What if I don't have insurance?
The Sora Dental Savings Plan covers your preventive care for one monthly fee, and monthly payment plans through Cherry or CareCredit can help with larger treatment. Neither involves an insurance company.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit and debit cards, HSA and FSA cards, checks, and cash. Whether a treatment is HSA- or FSA-eligible is your plan administrator's call, not ours; cosmetic work often is not. We'll confirm your options when we go over your estimate.
